Woodmere is a village in Nassau County, New York, United States, located on the South Shore of Long Island, approximately 18 miles (29 km) southeast of Manhattan. The village has a humid subtropical climate, with hot, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. Woodmere was originally inhabited by the Lenape Native Americans and was later settled by Dutch and English colonists. The village was incorporated in 1931 and has a rich history and heritage, including being home to many notable residents and landmarks.
