South Nyack, New York, United States, is a village located in the town of Orangetown, Rockland County. It is situated on the west bank of the Hudson River, approximately 20 miles north of New York City. The village has a humid continental climate, with warm, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. South Nyack was originally settled by the Dutch in the 17th century and was known as "Nyack". The village was incorporated in 1878 and became known as "South Nyack" in 1906.
