Ravena, New York, United States is a small village in the town of Coeymans, Albany County. It is located at the intersection of US Route 9 and NY Route 20, approximately 12 miles south of Albany. The village has a population of around 3,000 people and is known for its historic buildings and its proximity to the Hudson River. The weather in Ravena is generally mild, with warm summers and cold winters. The village was founded in 1803 by John Jacob Astor and was originally known as "Astor's Village". The village was renamed Ravena in 1836 after the nearby Ravena Creek. Ravena has a rich history and heritage, and is home to several historic buildings, including the Ravena Reformed Church, which was built in 1837, and the Ravena Firehouse, which was built in 1872.
