South Plainfield, New Jersey, is a small town in Middlesex County with a population of around 24,000. It is located about 30 miles southwest of New York City and has a humid subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. The town was founded in 1720 by English settlers and was originally known as Quibbletown. It was renamed South Plainfield in 1874 to avoid confusion with another town in the state. South Plainfield is home to a diverse population with a strong sense of community. The town is known for its excellent schools, parks, and recreation facilities.
