New Brunswick, New Jersey, also known as N'ju-Bransuik or Нью-Брансуик, is a city located in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States, at latitude 40.4862200 and longitude -74.4518200. The city has a humid subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. It is located on the Raritan River, approximately 30 miles (48 km) southwest of New York City. The city was founded in 1730 by Dutch settlers and was named after the Dutch province of New Brunswick. It is home to Rutgers University, the eighth-oldest institution of higher learning in the United States.
