Worthington, Minnesota, is a city located in Nobles County in the southwestern part of the state. The city is situated at the intersection of U.S. Highways 59 and 60, approximately 15 miles from the Iowa border. Worthington has a humid continental climate with hot, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. The city was founded in 1857 by a group of settlers from New York and named after Thomas Worthington, a former governor of Ohio. Worthington has a rich history and heritage, with many buildings and landmarks dating back to the 19th century. The city is home to several museums and historical sites, including the Nobles County Historical Society Museum and the Worthington Windmill Museum.
