East Lexington is a small town in Virginia, located at the intersection of US Route 11 and State Route 39, approximately 7 miles east of Lexington. The town has a humid subtropical climate, with hot, humid summers and mild winters. The town was founded in 1786 and was originally known as "Walker's Creek". It was renamed East Lexington in 1836. The town is home to several historic sites, including the East Lexington Historic District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
