Saxon is a small unincorporated community in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, United States. It is located at the intersection of South Carolina Highway 11 and Saxon Avenue, approximately 10 miles (16 km) southwest of the city of Spartanburg. The climate is humid subtropical, with hot, humid summers and mild winters. The area was first settled in the early 1800s by German immigrants, and the community was named after one of the early settlers, John Saxon. The community is home to several historic buildings, including the Saxon Methodist Church, which was built in 1848.
