Duncan, South Carolina, is a small town located in the northwestern part of the state, approximately 12 miles northeast of Greenville. The town has a humid subtropical climate, with hot, humid summers and mild, short winters. Duncan was founded in 1888 as a mill town and was named after Dr. William Wallace Duncan, a local physician and landowner. The town has a rich history and heritage, with many historic buildings and sites, including the Duncan United Methodist Church, which was built in 1890.
