Shattuck is a town in Ellis County, Oklahoma, United States, with a population of 1,391 as of the 2010 census. The town is located at the junction of U.S. Highway 283 and Oklahoma State Highway 34, approximately 100 miles (160 km) northwest of Oklahoma City. The climate is humid subtropical with hot, humid summers and mild winters. Shattuck was founded in 1893 as a railroad town on the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad. The town was named after Francis B. Shattuck, a railroad official. Shattuck is home to the National Route 66 Museum, which houses a collection of artifacts from the historic highway.
