Rockfish, North Carolina, United States is a small town located in Hoke County, with a population of around 1,000 people. The town is situated at the intersection of US Highway 401 and North Carolina Highway 24, and is approximately 20 miles south of Fayetteville. The climate in Rockfish is humid subtropical, with hot, humid summers and mild winters. The average temperature in July is 86 degrees Fahrenheit, and the average temperature in January is 42 degrees Fahrenheit. The town was founded in the early 1800s, and was originally known as "Cross Roads". The name was changed to "Rockfish" in 1887, after the nearby Rockfish Creek. The town is home to a number of historic buildings, including the Rockfish Presbyterian Church, which was built in 1835.
